Action World

On Tuesday the 3rd of December the seniors went to Action World.  We did a mix of different activates. The first one I did was a ball one where I had to jump from ball to ball and then onto a slide and slide down.  Next I went on the Tarzan swing and the tightrope (It was a bit scary). Last but not least I played the 18 hole mini golf (The mini golf was my favorite).

Plant Animation

For T shaped literacy we made an animation on how plants grow.  This animation shows how to grow kawakawa plants. I learnt all about different healing plants and other plants too  like popcorn and plants that survive in colder temperatures.

The Food Contest

On the 25 of October we made some food.  The food was for our maker space. We planted  our plants on Matariki. They needed water, the right temperature and sunlight.  They grew from a seed to a seedling. After a few months they were fully grown and ready to harvest.  We made lemon and carrot pikelets. We put in flour, eggs, sugar, baking powder and milk. We mixed it a few times and then we grated the carrot and lemon.  We put the carrot and lemon into the bowl and mixed it. We put it on the electric frying pan. Lastly we presented the pikelets on a plate with caramelized bananas, two lemons on the side and  topped with maple syrup.

Geometry

We are learning about geometry.  I learnt how to make lots of different shapes like cubes and parallelograms.  I can also make animals out of shapes.

Sea life

 Over term three in 2019 we have been doing T-Shaped literacy. Sea life is the one that I have chosen to show. I learnt how to classify marine life.  We classified by looking if it had lungs or not then we classified where it lived. This is my animation on humpback whales.

The melting ice block

We did an ice block challenge on the 25.9.19.  We got into groups and my group decided to put our  juicies inside a cardboard box wrapped in white fabric.  Our juicies 75% melted. At least we got juice. I think our insulation didn’t work because we didn’t wrap the  juicies in anything. We learnt that insulation keeps things hot and cold.

      We are learning about taking screenshots on where we are meant to be online.  I learnt a lot about screenshots.
